Tom Barnard - President

Tom is the President and founding member of Crown Funding Group, Inc.  He has more than 20 years of experience and expertise in commercial lending.  During his career, Tom has been successful placing all types of loan scenarios.  With a diversified background, he has assisted numerous customers to their funding needs.  He brings a “common sense” approach to all aspects of the loan process.

Before forming Crown Funding Group, Tom was a Vice President/Commercial Lending with The Brand Banking Company.  He was also formerly a Vice President with CitiGroup where he managed over 50 branches and over $500 million in assets.

He is a graduate of West Georgia College where he majored in Accounting.  He has completed numerous courses and seminars related to the commercial lending industry.

Tom and his family are members of Lawrenceville First United Methodist Church and are very active in youth sports.  He is also an active member of Kiwanis.

Chuck is a multi-talented executive with over fifteen years of sales, operations, development, marketing and finance administration experience.  He has been involved in over 1,000 mortgage transactions and is known throughout the mortgage industry as a "resolution expert".  His colleagues state that if you bring him a tough situation, he will find a way to get it solved.

After graduating from The Citadel, Chuck joined the Air Force, served in both Desert Shield and Desert Storm before retiring as a Captain.  While serving his country he received numerous awards and recognitions for leadership.

Chuck is a member of the Lawrenceville First United Methodist Church, enjoys working with kids and is a member of the American Legion.

Jason Atha - Vice President

Jason brings over 10 years of financial industry experience to Crown Funding Group.  During his tenure in this industry, Jason has successfully helped hundreds of business owners and home owners solve financial problems.  He works for the customer in every way possible to help put them in a better situation.

Jason is a former Georgia Tech baseball player and graduated from the school with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management.  After graduating from Georgia Tech, he attended Florida State University and obtained his Masters Degree.

Jason and his wife are devout Christians and members of Hebron Baptist Church in Dacula, GA.  They reside in Dacula with their daughter, Brooklyn, and dog, Buzz.

Jeff Poynter - Vice President

Jeff Poynter comes to Crown Funding Group with 21 years of business lending and financial management experience.  He worked 16 years with First Union/Wachovia as a Senior Financial Specialist and the last 5 years as the controller for a multi-million dollar general contractor specializing in apartment rehab construction.  Having both of these experiences, Jeff understands the needs of the business client from both sides of the desk and works hard to get the deal done.

Jeff is a graduate of the University of Georgia where he also met his wife of 21 years.  They have two daughters and are members of the First United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville where Jeff has served in many leadership capacities and is currently the Vice Chair of the Staff Parrish Relations committee.  Jeff also coaches youth softball and is a Collins Hill High School marching band roadie.
